Join Me on a Luxury AmaWaterways River Cruise Through Vietnam & Cambodia
By Susan Green

Some of my favorite travel memories happened around a dinner table with people I'd met a week earlier.
That's why I love hosting group trips. And this March, I'm hosting one on the Mekong River with AmaWaterways, sailing through Vietnam and Cambodia on their newest Mekong ship, the AmaMaya. We'll visit temples, riverside villages and local markets, and we'll see Angkor Wat.
I'd love for you to come with me!
Why I picked AmaWaterways
I don't host just any trip. I pick the ones I'd want to take myself.
AmaWaterways has been one of my favorite river cruise lines for years. Great ships, great food and excursions that get you out into the places you came to see.
The AmaMaya carries just 120 guests, and that's a big part of why I chose it. There are no long lines, the crew learns your name fast and the whole ship feels like a small luxury hotel.
And if you've ever told me "I'm not a cruise person," hear me out. A river cruise is a hotel that moves. You unpack once, and you wake up somewhere new.
What we'll see
On a river cruise there are no sea days. You're out in the destination every single day.
We'll stop in villages where life still runs on the Mekong, walk through local markets and meet artisans whose crafts have been handed down for generations.
In Phnom Penh, Cambodia's capital, we'll see the royal palace, historic landmarks and French colonial architecture.
And then there's Angkor Wat. For a lot of travelers, it's the reason they come to Cambodia at all. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the size of it, the carving and the history are hard to take in until you're standing there.
Why I love hosting
People ask me what it's like traveling with clients.
Honestly? It's just FUN!
You'll always have someone to share dinner with if you want company. Someone to celebrate a great excursion with. Someone who understands why you just took your 15th picture of the same temple because the light changed. (Don't worry. I'll probably be on my 16th!)
And you get to do the trip your way. Join the group when you want, take some quiet time when you don't and know there's always a friendly face nearby.
I've watched complete strangers become lifelong friends on these trips. Guests reunite on later trips, inside jokes are born and every group ends up with its own personality. Watching those friendships happen is one of my favorite parts of this job.
Make it a longer trip
If you're flying halfway around the world, you might as well stay a while.
Arrive early, stay a few extra days afterward or add another stop. Our team will set up your pre- and post-cruise plans around you.
The vacation starts the moment you leave home, so we'll plan your flights carefully too. Realistic connections, and maybe a night in early so you start the cruise rested.
Come with me
Solo, with your spouse, with friends or with family, I'd love to welcome you aboard.
