Come to Antarctica with me
11 nights on Seabourn Pursuit, round trip from Ushuaia. I'm hosting this sailing with Virtuoso, and I'd love for you to be on it.
Feb 11 to 22, 2027 · Seabourn Pursuit · 5 days in Antarctica · 264 guests · $250 shipboard credit per person
Why I picked this ship
After 31 years of booking cruises, I'm picky about expedition ships. Seabourn Pursuit carries 264 guests, every suite has a veranda, and the hull is built to PC6 polar class. It was made for ice.
And here's the thing I tell every safari client: you're paying for the GUIDES. Same goes down here. Pursuit sails with a team of about 24 naturalists, scientists and historians, and they're the people in the Zodiac with you, telling you what you're looking at.
It's still Seabourn, too. The drinks are included, the gratuities are included, and the suites have walk-in closets big enough for all that cold-weather gear (thank goodness).

The ship's log, day by day
Every expedition day depends on the weather and the ice. The captain and expedition leader pick the landings each morning, so no 2 sailings look the same.
- Day 1Thu, Feb 11
Ushuaia, Argentina(54.8°S)
The southernmost city in the world. We board and settle in.
- Day 2Fri, Feb 12
Ushuaiasail at 5:00 pm
Out through the Beagle Channel and toward open water.
- Days 3 to 4Feb 13 to 14
At seaDrake Passage
Lectures in the Discovery Center, briefings, and a lot of watching for albatross off the deck.
- Days 5 to 9Feb 15 to 19
The Antarctic Peninsula(~64°S)
5 full days, roughly 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Zodiac cruising, shore landings, kayaking, and the submarine if you want to go under the ice (that one's extra).
- Days 10 to 11Feb 20 to 21
At seaDrake Passage
Heading north. Recaps, photo swaps, and a long lunch.
- Day 12Mon, Feb 22
Ushuaiaarrive 7:00 am
Disembark and start the trip home.
The 2 things everyone asks me
"How long are the flights?" Long. I won't pretend otherwise. So we plan it like part of the vacation: realistic connections, flying in the night before, lounges where they make sense. I'll be watching your flights the whole way, from Sky Harbor or wherever you're starting.
"Will I be totally cut off?" Wi-Fi is included on board. You can check in with the kids. You might not want to.
One honest warning: the Drake can be rough. It's 2 days each way. Talk to your doctor about seasickness options before we go, and pack them even if you think you won't need them.
What's included on board
- Your veranda suite, with a walk-in closet for expedition gear
- Wines, spirits and soft drinks, all day
- All dining, with no reservations needed
- Gratuities
- Wi-Fi
- Expedition team lectures, landings and Zodiac outings
Submarine dives and a few specialty excursions cost extra. Most Seabourn Antarctica sailings also package a Buenos Aires hotel night and the charter flight to Ushuaia; I'll confirm exactly what's included on ours when we talk.

Sailing with me
When you book this through Susan's Travel Services, we pick the right suite with you, build the flights, and handle the details before you ever pack a parka.
And because this is a Virtuoso hosted sailing, you get a little extra:
- $250 shipboard credit per person (for the first 2 guests in your suite)
- A private welcome reception just for our Virtuoso group, so you meet everyone (and me) before the first landing
Restrictions apply. I'll walk you through the details when we talk.
Then I'm on the ship. If something goes sideways in Ushuaia or on day 7, you find me at breakfast.
We take care of you ON the trip and when you get back. That's my job.
What's the #1 thing you'd want to see down there?
Penguins? A whale right off the Zodiac? Your first iceberg the size of a building? Tell me, and let's talk about which suite is right for you.
