I just returned from an incredible Fiji fam trip, and while I will be sharing much more detailed property reviews soon, I wanted to give a quick overview of the itinerary and the properties we experienced along the way. There is a lot to unpack, so think of this as a first glimpse into what made this trip so special.

Getting There: Fiji Airways Business Class

We started our journey flying from LAX to Nadi on Fiji Airways in business class, and it set the tone for the entire trip. The seats convert into fully lie flat beds, and shortly after takeoff, the crew offered a turn down service complete with a mattress pad and a heavier blanket. I was tucked in and asleep not long after.

Even though I was too tired to stay up for dinner, the dining and beverage menus looked fantastic, with both cocktail and mocktail options. I woke up in time for breakfast, which was excellent. The in flight entertainment system had an extensive selection of movies and shows, enough that you could easily spend the entire flight exploring it. Some of my colleagues even made their way through season three of White Lotus on the flight over.

Royal Davui Island Resort

After arriving in Nadi, we transferred with Rosie Holidays to a boat that brought us to Royal Davui Island Resort. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a true escape. We were greeted with a refreshing lychee iced tea before heading straight into a site inspection.

I stayed in a Sunset Bungalow, which featured a private plunge pool, outdoor shower, and a beautiful indoor outdoor layout. The living space was open air, while the bedroom was air conditioned with an ensuite bathroom that included both a shower and a tub.

Royal Davui is an adults only private island resort with a meal inclusive program, and the dining was outstanding throughout our stay. We spent two nights here and had the opportunity to snorkel on an incredible reef, as well as participate in a traditional kava ceremony. One of the standout moments was hearing the staff warmly remember my parents from their previous visit, which speaks volumes about the level of personalized service here.

Nanuku Resort

From there, we returned to the mainland and headed to Nanuku Resort. This property has a very different feel, offering a more traditional resort experience that is especially well suited for families.

We stayed in a three bedroom villa with a private pool, full kitchen, and multiple living spaces. One of the bedrooms was in a separate standalone structure just off the patio, which adds flexibility for families or groups traveling together.

During our stay, we participated in a private cooking class where we made two versions of Fijian ceviche, one ocean based and one mountain based, both of which were delicious. We also visited their private island for a picnic and some time exploring and relaxing in the warm water.

After touring several villa categories, my personal favorite was the one bedroom garden villa. It offered a high level of privacy, its own outdoor space, and a more modern design. Nanuku also offers an optional meal plan, making it a flexible choice depending on how guests prefer to travel.

Namale Resort & Spa

Next, we took a short flight to Namale, an adults only all inclusive resort that originally began as a private retreat for Tony Robbins.

I stayed in a garden bungalow, which felt incredibly private and secluded. In fact, the entire property is designed in a way that you rarely see other guests outside of shared spaces like dining.

Namale offers a true all inclusive experience, with meals and alcohol included, and a wide range of activities on property. One of the more unique features is their game room, which includes everything from board games and cards to air hockey, pool, darts, and even a bowling alley.

We also participated in another kava ceremony here, which was a highlight. The combination of privacy, inclusions, and variety of activities makes this property a very distinct option in Fiji.

Likuliku Lagoon Resort

Our final stop brought us back toward the main island, followed by a private boat transfer to Likuliku Lagoon Resort. This adults only, meal inclusive property is known for its overwater bungalows, though I stayed in a beachfront villa that I absolutely loved. The design here leans more toward a French Polynesian aesthetic.

One of my favorite details was the presence of baby sharks in the lagoon, which were surprisingly tiny and fascinating to watch as they navigated the shallow water.

We experienced their Friday evening management cocktail hour, where the staff performed traditional Fijian dance and music, followed by a Fijian BBQ dinner that was outstanding.

We also visited their private island for lunch and snorkeling, and spent time relaxing in covered day beds by the water. During our site tour, we explored the overwater bungalows as well. As with most overwater accommodations, it is important to note that they can involve a fair amount of walking, and golf cart access may be limited along the boardwalks.

Likuliku also has a strong focus on sustainability, including coral planting and efforts to repopulate the Fijian iguana. I had the opportunity to sponsor a reef star, which will be planted soon, with updates sent periodically to track its growth.

Wrapping Up

After two nights at Likuliku, we departed via helicopter transfer back to Nadi airport, which was an incredible way to end the trip.

This itinerary offered a fantastic overview of the diversity within Fiji, from ultra private island escapes to family friendly villas and fully all inclusive experiences. I will be sharing much more detailed reviews of each property soon, so keep an eye out for those if you are considering Fiji for a future trip.
